WordPress is one of the most popular CMS programs used today and it makes sense that you would need to migrate your website to keep it current with the times, but how can you do this? WordPress offers a whole host of tools for site builders and if you are a developer then you can use these as well. You can have custom permalinks which is a great feature when you are migrating the content from one platform to another; WordPress allows you to do this and much more with their free Migrations section. This article will show you how to perform this migration from WordPress to Joomla; this can be done easily with the help of some great online migration services. When you choose to perform a migration from WordPress to Joomla; you will first need to login to your Joomla admin and make any changes you wish to be able to put on the new site. After you have done this you will want to select the files and options that you want to transfer from your old site. These include all the files associated with the text, images and colors used on your website. One of the best things about working with WordPress is that you can add new features and change the code for the whole site which can be very time consuming; this makes it a good idea to just use the migration tool that is provided by Joomla. You will simply need to enter your login details and any other details needed to get the job done; this should only take a few minutes. When you save the site after performing a website migration from WordPress to Joomla; you may not be able to see the changes immediately; this is because your theme will have had all the changes performed already. To be able to view these changes you will need to login to your Joomla admin and click on the "perform actions" link which should be next to the "manage panels" link. Once you have done this you will be able to view the site in the "dashboard". If you find that there are any problems then you can always refer to the "Joomla Help" file that should be available within your main Joomla installation folder. This can also be accessed by clicking on the "Help" button on the administrative area of Joomla.
