Wholesale unlicensed medicine suppliers in the UK have a Wholesale Distribution Authorisation issued by the MHRA, Controlled Drug License. This is issued by the Home Office and MS license which permits imports of goods from anywhere outside the European Union. The wholesale suppliers deliver medicines to medical practitioners and pharmacies. Few wholesale dealers supply “specials” to animals also. These are called veterinary specials and supplied in the absence of licensed substitutes.
