When you look at an item in your garage, whether it is a piece of clothing, a bike, an appliance, etc., think whether someone else may find value in it. If the item is still in good condition, then it is not “junk,” it is just unwanted by you. You could create a third pile when separating called “sale items.” Not only to garage sales free up space in your home, but they also help other people find items they need greatly but cannot afford in stores. Garage sales are the ultimate form of repurposing. The items you sell have a new home, therefore a new purpose.
