Valid boards are recognized by council of board of school education (COBSE) . COBSE works in collaboration with Ministry Of Human Resource Development and other agencies like National Council of Research And Educational Training(NCERT), National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration(NUEPA) , National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE). COBSE was established in 1979. In india 62 boards are recognized and some foreign boards such as that of Nepal, Bhutan , Mauritious , UK , UCLES and 1B are its members. It improves quality of education , and evaluation system along with curriculum reform. It works under the guidance of NCERT/NIEPA regarding professional issues.
