SRK began his career with quite a few appearances in the shows of the 1980s. He made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with one of his all-time hits Deewana. His character was recognized for portraying villainous roles in films like Baazigar, Anjaam, and Darr. Things changed when he starred in the movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995). After that, he did movies like Dil To Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Mohabbatein, and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. He then was critically acclaimed for his portrayal of an alcoholic in Devdas, a NASA scientist in Swades, a hockey coach in Chak De India, and a man with Asperger syndrome in My Name Is Khan.
