The Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 2014/68/EU is a European Union regulation that governs the design, manufacture, and conformity assessment of pressure equipment and assemblies operating above 0.5 bar gauge pressure. It ensures that pressure vessels, boilers, piping systems, and safety accessories meet essential safety requirements before being placed on the EU market. The directive mandates CE marking for compliant products and applies to a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, chemical processing, energy, and transport. PED compliance ensures equipment safety, reliability, and legal access to the European Economic Area (EEA).
