A yeast infection in the throat, commonly known as oral thrush, occurs when Candida fungus overgrows in the mouth and throat. It can cause white patches, soreness, a burning sensation, and difficulty swallowing. Risk factors include weakened immunity, diabetes, antibiotic use, and poor oral hygiene. While mild cases may resolve easily, antifungal treatment is often needed. Early diagnosis helps prevent the infection from spreading and ensures faster relief.
