I recently went through the process of treating my home for termites and installing a permanent barrier, and I thought I’d share my experience, including the costs involved. Hopefully, it gives other homeowners a realistic idea of what to expect because I found it difficult to get clear information before starting before anything else, I scheduled a professional Termite Inspection to assess the extent of the infestation and determine the best course of action. The inspector spent a couple of hours checking the subfloor, roof voids, external timber, and other high-risk areas. They looked for active termite activity, past damage, and vulnerabilities in my home’s structure. The inspection cost was about $150, which I felt was money well spent because it provided a clear picture of what I was dealing with. Without it, I wouldn’t have known where to focus the treatment or whether a barrier was necessary.
