CISD's Vision for Agriculture's Sustainable Future To support the move towards sustainability in important sectors, the Centre for Innovation in Sustainable Development (CISD) has chosen agriculture as one its key focus areas. Prof. V Shankar, Executive in Residence, SPJIMR, sheds light on the multifaceted advantages of prioritizing agriculture for sustainable development. Given the primacy of agriculture in India, CISD believes that by prioritizing agriculture, our work will help empower rural areas, and to address pressing challenges like poverty, and food security. Through supporting small-holder farmers, promoting innovation, and harnessing technology, we can help develop a thriving agribusiness that is based on inclusive growth, environmental responsibility, and improved quality of life.
