In chemistry, the term pH means “potential of hydrogen”. The hydrogen ions in concentration in water determine the level of pH in it. It decides whether the water is acidic or basic (alkaline). The pH is scale based which goes in between 0-14. 7.0 is the neutral point for the scale. If the scale is below 7.0 then it is acidic, and if higher than 7.0 it is considered alkaline or basic.
