Bromelain is an enzyme that is extracted from the stem of the pineapple, also present in fresh pineapples. It belongs to the family Bromeliaceae. It is otherwise known as fruit bromelain and stem bromelain. It is white to tan powder, soluble in water. Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme. The optimum Ph of this enzyme is 4.5. Bromelain is good for immune systems, joints, and gut health.
