Open Charge Point Protocol, or OCPP, interprets and translates the languages between EV chargers and Charging Station Management Systems or CSMS. For those unaware of the term, "CSMS" is a cloud-based backend system that YoCharge’s team of professionals manages through our EV charging stations. The intention behind this protocol is to ensure that EV chargers are compatible with the CSMS to fulfil the charging requirements of any electric vehicle. A fun fact about OCPP is that neither of the parties, as in the EV charger manufacturer and software developer, have to live in the same place where the charging service exists.
