Experts agree that the convergence of current technologies such as search, wireless connectivity, and wearable computing could lead to an explosion in human-centered technology. The idea behind the Metaverse is that on the internet, we are creating a digital world that is parallel to our own, and every interaction we make impacts both worlds. As far as experts can tell, it’s unclear whether an IRL metaverse will ever exist, but it’s clear that it already has its roots in the Oculus Rift.
