One of the most important things to remember after root canal treatment is to get plenty of rest. While the area around the treatment site will feel sore for the first few days after the procedure, this will subside in time. Ideally, the tooth will recover within a week. If it takes longer, this might indicate that the infection has spread to the bone, requiring further cleaning and treatment.
