What is the main difference of assisted living and the long-term care facility? Both are forms of nursing homes. Assisted living facilities have all the features and services as nursing homes however, they are much less costly. Nursing homes typically provide more extensive care which includes physical therapy in addition to an experience that is more personalized for residents. Assisted living can provide a wide variety of amenities and services that nursing homes don’t provide, such as three meals per day cleaning, housekeeping, laundry as well as physical therapy.
