Articles are one of the three main categories of words in English grammar. Articles are used to identify the nouns or specify what particular type of noun is being discussed. They introduce the reader to a topic, create a sense of familiarity and tell them about what's coming up. There are two types, definite articles which refer to a specific noun or indefinite articles which refer to no particular noun.
