Omicron Variant India News Update: The Union Department of Health on Thursday confirmed that the first two cases of Omicron variation in India have been found in Karnataka. Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has held a meeting with States and Union Territories officials to review COVID-19 testing methods and security measures at international airports. Strict guidelines came into effect on December 1 as the Department of Aviation now required all international travelers to submit a 14-day travel history, a negative RT-PCR report on the Air Suvidha website and a verification announcement of a COVID-19 test report.
