Indian Maritime University is one of the top universities for studies in naval science. It was established by the Act of Parliament ( Act 22 ) in 2008. It is also an IMU Central University with All India Jurisdiction. In addition, IMU has a total of six campuses. The headquarters is located on the outer reaches of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
