On Saturday, Alex Lynn made his fifth Super Pole appearance of the season and lined up third on the grid, with Alexander Sims starting from the fifth row. Lynn survived being pushed into a spin by Pascal Wehrlein on lap 10, crossing the finish line just outside of the points in 11th, while Sims was forced to retire with a right rear puncture after being hit on lap 28.
