Wooden flooring is any product manufactured from timber that is designed for use as flooring, either structural or aesthetic. Wood is a common choice as a flooring material and can come in various styles, colours, cuts and species. There are five main types of hardwood floors. They are vinyl, laminate, parquet, solid and engineered hardwood. Engineered wood flooring, also called mass timber, composite wood, man-made wood or manufactured board also includes a range of derivative wood products which are manufactured by binding or fixing the strands. An engineered wood floor is constructed of layers of both hardwood and plywood, where solid hardwood is a is a solid piece of wood with no layers. Engineered hardwood construction has durable, high performance qualities. It is constructed with multi-layers of wood, each layer is positioned in a different direction.
