Bone marrow transplant (BMT) is a treatment option for patients with blood disorders like leukemia or lymphoma. This procedure replaces unhealthy blood-forming cells with healthy ones. The patient undergoes radiation or chemotherapy sessions before the bone marrow transplant to destroy the diseased cells and marrow and is then given the healthy cells.
