Aortic Valve Stenosis is considered a severe condition of the heart that may or may not be congenital. A person is diagnosed with this condition if there is a narrowing of the aortic valve. This narrowing results in the restricted flow of blood to the aorta from the left ventricle. This, in turn, results in an unnecessary pressure building up in the left atrium. In such cases, the doctor may suggest the TAVI or Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation surgical procedure.
