A burning sensation in the gums can be uncomfortable and may indicate issues like gum disease, dry mouth, allergies, or hormonal changes. Plaque buildup can inflame gum tissue, while reduced saliva leaves gums more vulnerable to irritation. In some cases, it may be linked to conditions like Burning Mouth Syndrome.  Staying hydrated, maintaining oral hygiene, and avoiding irritants can help, but persistent symptoms should be evaluated by a dentist.
