The dense forests of Jim Corbett National Park recently witnessed a rare and mysterious sighting that has wildlife enthusiasts buzzing—the elusive Spot-Bellied Eagle-Owl, often called the “Ghost of the Forest.” Known for its nocturnal habits and incredible camouflage, this majestic bird is extremely difficult to spot, making every sighting a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Its striking eyes, mottled feathers, and silent flight give it an almost mystical presence in the dense canopy. Visitors on a Jim Corbett Safari were fortunate enough to glimpse this magnificent owl during a guided early morning drive. Experts emphasize that sightings of the Spot-Bellied Eagle-Owl are rare due to its secretive nature and preference for remote forest interiors.
