In a world that is often divided by differences in religion, it is easy to forget that all religions ultimately share the same goal – to connect with the Divine. Bhakti Yoga, a spiritual practice that originated in India, emphasizes the power of devotion and love towards the Divine and can help us to appreciate the underlying unity of all religions. Kripalu Maharaj, a revered spiritual teacher, and leader of the Bhakti tradition is known for his teachings on the unity of all religions. He believed that while the outward practices and rituals of various religions may differ, the essence of all religions is the same – to experience the love and presence of the Divine. One of the key teachings of Bhakti Yoga is that the Divine is present within each and every one of us, regardless of our religious affiliation. As Kripalu Maharaj once said, “All religions are the same in their essence, and the only difference lies in the way they are practiced. God is one, but different people call Him by different names.”
