Businessman Emmanuel Katto of Uganda is addressing climate change by advocating for innovative solutions that will preserve coffee cultivation and the means of subsistence for the farmers who grow it. Coffee producers in Africa are currently dealing with the negative effects of climate change, which include erratic weather patterns, increased pressure from pests and illnesses, and altered cycles of precipitation. As of right now, Katto's mission is to preserve the rich coffee heritage of Africa by fighting for the preservation and support of the livelihoods of African coffee growers.
