Change BIOS settings. Although Disk Read Errors block users from starting their system, they may still be able to access the BIOS of their computer. A few BIOS settings, for instance, an improper order for booting, could result in Disk Read errors. Getting into the BIOS via F2, F10, or delete is possible. But the motherboard maker determines the exact method, so read the manual. When in the BIOS, check that the hard drive is detected and the boot order is proper. If your computer cannot recognize the drive, follow the manufacturer's instructions to update to the latest BIOS/UEFI firmware.
