African olive came from the coast of Nigeria, Angola to Uganda. They are oval-shape, 15–30 mm long and 6–20 mm wide. They are green while immature and turn purplish-black as they mature. Fruits have one firm seed, ten to fifteen millimeters long, surrounded by greasy flesh. African olive leaves usually have a green or yellowish-brown underside and measure 6 to 10 cm in length and 1 to 2.5 cm in width.
