The best Panditji for various pooja at Trimbakeshwar Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga is considered to be one of the most sacred shrines in India. There are many reasons for this belief. Trimbakeshwar is considered to be the birthplace of Lord Ganesha. It is also believed that Trimbakeshwar was the abode of revered sage Gautama. To get rid of the sin of 'cow slaughter, the sages worshipped Lord Shiva at Brahmagiri mountain to make the river Ganga flow to the earth. His penance was completed and Mother Ganga took the form of the River Godavari and originated from the Kushavarta (Tirtharaja) of the Brahmagiri mountain at Trimbakeshwar. Hindus believe that those who visit Trimbakeshwar attain moksha or moksha and consider it to be the most ideal place for the shradh ceremony (Hindu rituals for the salvation of the soul). According to mythology, Lord Rama traveled to Trimbakeshwar to perform shradh.
