The 9th generation iPad offers more memory options, with 64 GB and 248 GB options. This is twice the amount of memory the 8th generation had in 2020. The 8MP back camera still has an f.2.4 aperture and the 12MP ultra-wide sensor for the front-facing camera. This wide camera is actually super-cool. It uses machine learning to ensure you are always in the middle of the frame. You can still use the flash but you will need to bring your own light source if you wish to take photos in low lighting. The battery has not been upgraded: While the 2019 model had an 8827mAh LiPo battery (- 32.9 Wh) the newer 2021-9th generation actually reduced that to 8526mAh. The difference is not significant enough to make it noticeable. Both models boasted their 'all-day' battery as a selling point. It's not an upgrade unless you have an iPad 7th or 8th generation that no longer has the same battery life as it did when it was new. The iPad's processor is the most significant improvement.
