The central features of Mastercard's 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed have been revealed, and we think it's one of the best yet. This year we celebrate the 50th anniversary of BMW M and what a race it is. For half a century, these famous three-stripes have graced some of the world's finest road and race cars, from the E30 M3 to the V12 LMR Le Mans winner. Hispano Suiza Carmen marks the return of the Festival of Speed legend On the opening day of Mastercard's 2022 Festival of Speed, there were plenty of new machines on the mountain, from the Czinger 21C to the BMW M3 Touring. Not to be missed, however, is the Hispano-Suiza Carmen. If the name sounds familiar, it's because Hispano-Suiza was founded in Barcelona in 1904 and produced some very large and fast cars until its collapse in 1946. As such, the car is the first new Hispano-Suiza in more than seven decades, and Carmen's name is inspired by Carmen Mateu, the granddaughter of Damián Mateu who originally founded the company.
