Founded in 1905, Fudan University was the first higher education institution in China to establish a business education department. The School of Management (FDSM) has grown into one of China's institutions of higher learning. The school was awarded the first prize for R&D progress and the first prize for outstanding academic achievement at the national level. The school is also AACSB and EQUIS accredited. Deeply rooted in the fertile soil of Fudan's century-long history of humanity and art, the Fudan IMBA project embodies the ideals and mission of its founders and is moving towards a brighter future. Now gaining momentum from Shanghai’s economic and financial growth with full-scale globalization, the project, supported by extraordinary faculty and professional management team, seeks to meet expectations both domestically and abroad and from all sections of the community. The development of the Fudan IMBA program over the past fifteen years is the fruit of gathering and digesting the experiences and successes of the best business education institutions from around the world. It is part of an innovative path that aims to become a top-notch project in Asia with a global emphasis on developing management elite and business leaders with global competitiveness and local intelligence. Today’s fast-growing economy is increasingly gaining weight towards the Asia-Pacific region. Here, China plays a significant role as the largest and most globalized player; Shanghai is an important engine that promotes the growth of its economy. This has created an urgent need for highly qualified business leaders. Following an old Chinese saying that you need to have the right tools to accomplish a task, business leaders in China need to challenge their management ideas, knowledge, and skills to seize opportunities and make their dreams come true. Fudan is traditional but forward-looking, conservative but open-minded, located in China but taking a global perspective.
