Mamelons are the small rounded bumps that can appear along the edges of front teeth. They are a natural part of tooth development and are commonly seen when permanent teeth first erupt. In most people, these enamel ridges wear down over time through normal chewing, but some adults may still have them due to bite alignment issues or limited tooth wear. Mamelons are harmless and usually don’t require treatment, though cosmetic reshaping is an option if desired.
