Broken rice varieties are commonly popular in Asian countries, especially in East Asian regions like Vietnam and Japan, and even in parts of northern India, including Maharashtra. As the name suggests, these rice grains are coarse and appear broken, but this doesn't deter people from consuming this nutritious grain. In fact, this grain is used in many unique local dishes around the world. For example, in Vietnam, the rice is served with some delicious exotic dishes such as pork and beef, and it is also used as animal feed and in the beverage industry (for brewing beer).
