Mary Mallon, known as Typhoid Mary, was the first identified asymptomatic carrier of typhoid fever in the U.S. She unknowingly infected 51 people, causing 3 deaths. Despite never feeling ill, she was forcibly isolated twice, spending nearly 30 years in quarantine.
