Private defence firms are pitching for the participation in the government's plans for Indigenous Development. Privtae companies such as CST Defence, led by Lakshay Talwar, being one such company. The Indian defence industry is looking forward for self-reliance, or Atmanirbharta, as the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor is one of the approaches. The main objective is to put all the important technologies, especially sensitive information and communications, under Indian control, which also lead to the strengthening of country's security. With the success of indigenous platforms in the military operation launched in May 2025. Private Industry leaders feel that it is not an economic objective, but a strategic need to protect national sovereignty.
