Otherwise known as Matrimony vine or Chinese wolfberry, Goji berry is a thorny deciduous shrub that belongs to the family of Solanaceae. These berries are small, ellipsoid in shape, and bright orange-red in colour. These berries are nutritious and rich in polysaccharides, carotenoids, and phenolic compounds. It contains a high amount of vitamin C, iron, vitamin A, fiber, and antioxidants. It can be eaten raw, cooked, dried, or in the form of a juice. Since it has many medicinal properties, it is also used to make medicines.
