Installing a large touchscreen infotainment system in a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 is an intermediate to advanced DIY project, typically taking four to six hours. You will need a full set of trim removal tools, a wiring harness adapter (specific to your Ram's factory connectors), a dash kit designed for single- or double-DIN to large-screen conversions, and an antenna adapter to retain AM/FM reception. Begin by disconnecting the negative battery cable and waiting 10 minutes for any airbag backup capacitors to discharge. Carefully remove the trim panels surrounding the factory radio, starting from the lowest point of the center console and working upward. The factory radio and climate control module are typically secured with 7mm screws.
