The global demand for steel is steadily increasing and is anticipated to remain positive by the end of 2019. While the robustness of the demand for steel recovery seen in 2017 continued until 2018, the associated risks have also increased. The World Steel Association (WSA) anticipated global demand for steel reaching 1.657.9 million tons (Mt) in 2018, which is a 3.9 percent increase as compared to 2017. It is expected that this demand will reach 1,681.2 Mt by the end of 2019.
