The word “Data Science” was created in the early 1960s to describe a new profession that would support the understanding and interpretation of large amounts of data. In the manufacturing industry, Data science is facing big shifts nowadays. Modern data science in manufacturing is called Industry 4.0 which is the manufacturing under circumstances of the 4th industrial revolution that has brought automation, robotization and broad application of data. The term ‘Data Science’ was firstly invented in 2001 and it took less than two decades for it to be the craze it is today.
