Rat poop is small, dark, and pellet-shaped, usually about 1/2 to 3/4 inch long with pointed ends. Fresh droppings look shiny and black, while older ones turn gray and crumbly. They are often found in clusters rather than single pieces. You’ll commonly spot them along walls, in cupboards, behind appliances, or near food sources. Noticing these droppings is a strong sign of rat activity in your home.
