An itchy and sore tongue in children is often caused by minor injuries, hot foods, food allergies, mouth ulcers, oral thrush, or irritation from acidic or spicy foods. In some cases, vitamin deficiencies or viral infections may also be responsible.  While many cases improve with good oral hygiene and home care, persistent pain, swelling, white patches, or difficulty eating should be evaluated by a dentist or pediatrician. Early diagnosis helps relieve discomfort and ensures your child's oral health stays on track.
