It started with Godzilla and the conflicts to what he is having with other titans who are hiding in the canvas of earth. Secondly, Kong was being introduced as the king of skull island fighting the skull crawlers to keep the island safe. But as both Godzilla & Kong are alpha titans they both would keep fighting till the end as it is in their destiny. But in the movie, the actual enemy is someone else & i.e. Mechagodzilla that is been developed by humans itself to give a tough fight to the alpha titans & destroy the world.
