Today's car is a 1973 Series III E-Type 1973 Jaguar E-Type Roadster V12 Manual Fern Gray Roadster. The final and third series of Jaguar's light sports cars from 1971 to 1974 had a 272-hp 5.3-litre V-12 engine that was weaker than the renowned XK due to its aluminium-based construction six-cylinder model. Jaguar decided to eliminate the two-seat coupe in the following model years, offering only roadster and 2+2 coupe models with identical wheelbases. Series Three cars are most evident by their enlarged oval grille, and they also had vertical hatches to give them a stylish and slightly more toothy appearance.
