Thermo-mechanically treated (TMT) bars are high-strength reinforcement bars that are strong and flexible. TMT bars are used in construction projects. They have a tough outer core and a softinner core. This is due to the unique manufacturing process, which involves the following: • Passing steel wires through a rolling mill stand. • Giving the steel 'billets' shape. • Quickly cooling the outside of the bars with a high-pressure water spray. • Letting the inner core cool slowly on cooling beds.
