A rotary calciner consists of a rotating drum housed within an externally heated furnace enclosure. Unlike direct-fired kilns that expose materials to combustion gases, rotary calciners transfer heat radiantly from the externally heated kiln shell to the material bed. This indirect heating methodology preserves material purity, prevents contamination, and allows precise control over thermal conditions throughout the processing chamber.
