A hosted  desktop solution is a complete thick-client user experience that runs on a server as a virtual machine and can be accessed remotely. Without having to build a dedicated workstation for each employee, virtual desktop infrastructure allows enterprises to distribute operating systems and apps in a centralised manner. Desktop images are the foundation of VDI solutions, which a user connects to and utilises as if it were operating locally on their device. Remote desktops are session-based workspaces that are hosted on remote servers rather than locally.
