Hemostatic Forceps, also known as Ring Forceps, are pivoting instruments that give the impression of being ring scissors. In many cases, hemostatic forceps will have a locking mechanism on them known as a fastener. This mechanism is used for clipping. As each new portion of the fastener is utilized, the jaws of the locking forceps gradually move closer together until they are flush. The hemostatic forceps are utilized for gaining a grip on, firmly retaining, or establishing a footing on items. When it comes to especially delicate work, hemostatic forceps equipped with a locking ratchet are preferred over thumb forceps almost universally.
