DOTA Magnetic Particles - CD Bioparticles The DOTA (1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-N, N', N'', N'''-raacetic acid) magnetic particles are a type of superparamagnetic particles that are functionalized with DOTA. These particles are commonly used as solid supports for immobilizing proteins, antibodies, and other biologically relevant molecules in various bioassays. The DOTA functional group on the magnetic particles provides a high-affinity binding site for metal ions such as Gd (III) and Mn (II), making them useful as MRI and MRS contrast agents. The DOTA chelating group also confers higher stability to the bound metal ions, enhancing their relaxivity and imaging efficacy.
