After serving in World War I, Weinstein launched his own company renting towels, uniforms, and linens. Prior to that, he worked in the towel supply industry in Cleveland. In 1920, he changed the company’s name to the Southern Linen Service Corporation and opened several facilities throughout the South. As National Linen Service Corporation, the business went public in 1928. As it grew, it eventually reached markets on the west coast and in the southwest. The business had a New York Stock Exchange listing by 1944.
